(Prensa.com) An amount of $22 million will be invested in the construction of a new hospital in the district of Chilibre and surrounding communities, reported Minister of Health, Franklin Vergara.
According to the health official, the money for the construction of this hospital was donated by the government of Taiwan, following negotiations with Panamanian Vice-President Juan Carlos Varela.
Vergara further informed on RPC Radio that the hospital is expected to have 60 beds, digital technology, and 24-hour emergency service, allowing for around-the-clock medical care for residents of Chilibre, Alcalde Díaz, among other nearby communities.
Although the official did not specify the exact location of the construction area, he did disclose that the land was donated by the Ministry of Health and is located off of the heavily-transited Vía Transístmica.
