Panama to participate in Texas coffee festival

04/17/2011 By Panama Eric

(Prensa.com) Panama will participate in the 23rd annual meeting of the Specialty Coffee Association of American to be held from April 28 to May 1 in Houston, Texas.
Minister of Commerce and Industry Roberto Henríquez said that there will be more than 8,000 people at the event, including specialty coffee buyers and representatives of major chains.
“Through this fair, Panamanian producers can generate new sales opportunities, launch new products and learn about trends in the specialty coffee industry,” he said.
Producers from Chiriqui attended last year’s meeting, and were able to sell 10 containers of specialty beans. This year, representatives of growers in Veraguas will also attend the event.
Producers from more than 75 countries are expected to participate in the event.
