Panama November Holidays

11/01/2010 By Panama Eric

(BoqueteGuide)

Nov 2 – Day of the Dead, (not at all like Mexico, no parades)
Nov 3 – Separation from Columbia

Nov 4 – Day of the Bandera ( Flag Day) a Day off from work

Nov 5- Colon Day, A day off from Work

Nov 10 – First Cry for Independence ( Not sure of this is a legal day off from work.)

Nov 28 – Independence day, from Spain, a Day off From Work

Most of these patriotic holidays are celebrated with parades during the day. In Boquete Nov 3 and 4 are local parades. Nov 28 is traditionally the big parade with attendees from around the country.

If you are a visitor, take a camera, take an umbrella and be ready for 1950’s red, white and blue with the police and fire department filling in for the military component. Every town, hamlet and city in Panama will get into this party.

In the evenings there will be discos, music and if there is not enough in Boquete you can always go to Dolega or David for more partying.
