President of the National Assembly José Muñoz announced Monday that he has suspended all official foreign missions planned by legislators so that pending legislation could be dealt with in a timely manner.
According to Muñoz, this suspension seeks to ensure that the Assembly handles pending business by Oct. 31, when the current legislative session ends. This includes the budget and the six laws that were formerly included in the “Law 30” reforms.
“If necessary, we will meet on Fridays and Saturdays,” said Muñoz.
Also on the agenda for the Assembly are a proposal to make changes to the Ministry of Finance, legislation relating to the Metro project and changes to the adolescent criminal code.
