10/15/2010 By Panama Eric

Panama’s annual inflation stood steady at 4.2 percent through September with the consumer price index showing no change.

Typically, Panama enjoys low inflation and its economy has been one of the best performers in the region in recent years, despite the global recession.
Meanwhile economic activity rose by 6.24 percent in July, driven by the telecommunications, tourism, and the Panama Canal expansion Officials and analysts have projected that the country’s economy will grow 7 percent this year.
