Devils and Congos festival in Panama

(PRnoticiaspanama.com) The seventh version of the traditional Festival of Diablos and Congos in Portobelo, called “The Congos and Devils: Rebuilding Portobelo”, was full of activities and above all very striking, tradition, culture, joy and the public.

Upon arrival on Saturday March 26 Tourist Facilities Center (CEFATI) of the Tourism Authority of Panama, was inaugurated the exhibition of photos of previous festivals, which involved the work of photographers Alfredo Marquez, Tito Herrera, Raquel Eleta, Aurora Fierro, Joseph Cooper and Charles Itzen, and works related to the culture of artists conga Benalcázar Alexis, Claudia Lamboglia, Manuel Quintero (Malucón), Henry Lombardo, Raul Kelly, Ramses Giovanni, Heriberto Torres and Raul Jimenez, these located in the CEFATI and other open spaces in town.

The colorful and creativity of this culture, passed from generation to generation, is so rich and beautiful that you can see from that one comes to this important town of Columbus.

The festival this year was attended by seven groups of Congos: Colon, Eneida Doña City, Miramar, Palenque, Cacique, Portobelo Portobelo adults and children. And with seven groups of devils: Farm Pipe Santa Rita, Maria Chiquita, Colon Don Bosco, Puerto Lindo, Residencial La Feria, devils Assembly Palenque, Name of God and Miramar.

It should be noted that this festival is held by the Foundation Portobelo along the Historic Enhancement Group and supported by the Tourism Authority and the National Institute of Culture.
