56th Annual David International Fair March 17-27

03/16/2011 By Panama Eric

(Lonely Planet) Well it’s that time again! The 56th Annual International Fair of San Jose of David is starting next week on March 17th for 11 whole days! The fair grounds are open 24 hours and there will be lots of food, folklore, cultural events, rodeos, discotecas, bars, shopping, agriculture, etc. It costs about $1.50 to get in. This fair is considered to be one of this biggest in all of Central America! As always, David City will be busy, and hotel and hostel space can be hard to come by so plan accordingly!

It’s a lot of fun, so while I wouldn’t necessarily recommend that people make a special trip to come from say, Honduras, it would be an entertaining thing to participate in if you find yourself in Panama during that 11 day period. Here’s a website (Spanish Only), if you want to read up on it a bit more: http://www.feriadedavid.com/inicio.htm
