In the past two months, Immigration officials have deported 118 foreign nationals, reported Immigration Director María Cristina González Monday.
It was reported that 63 people were deported in September, while there were 55 deportations in August.
Most of those deported in September were from Nicaragua (28) and Colombia (18). There were also residents from China, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Bangladesh, Congo, Ecuador, Chile, the United States and Honduras who were sent home.
The transport costs came out of the Immigration Trust Fund.

González said that efforts have been intensified to detect people in the country illegally, especially people who are working here without permission.
