(prensa.com) Secret U.S. State Department communications regarding former Panamanian dictator Manuel Antonio Noriega are among the documents that are expected to be released by the web site Wikileaks in coming weeks.
A former U.S. military official gave the documents to the web site. Many of them are top-secret messages from diplomats to U.S. officials regarding world leaders.
Among the documents released yesterday are ones that expose the efforts to isolate Venezuela President Hugo Chavez and a request for information on the mental health of Argentina President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
Stories in European media about the documents state that the historical records related to Noriega will be released in the near future. The documents allegedly reveal the efforts by American diplomats to force the dictator from office prior to the U.S. invasion in 1989 that resulted in his being imprisoned. There are also documents related to the recent ousting of Manuel Zelaya of Honduras.
